Join us for the third annual North Florida Safe Streets Summit! Connecting our Communities from the Inside Out 8:30 - 10am Pre-Summit Walkshop (Registration required) Tour a portion of the nearby Cathedral District! The district includes five historic churches and is currently being redeveloped into a leafy, green, vibrant neighborhood where a diverse array of residents live, work, shop, eat, play & pray. The price is $5 for Summit registrants and $10 if you are not attending the summit. Summit Details: Session 1: Our Core to Coast panel, moderated by Neptune Beach Vice Mayor Fred Jones, features progress highlights from CEO Lori Boyer, Downtown Investment Authority; Jacksonville City Council Member Joyce Morgan; and Groundwork Jacksonville CEO Kay Ehas. Session 2: Learn about equity considerations in creating safe streets with Charles Brown, founder and principal of Equitable Cities and an adjunct professor at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. Panelists include Atlantic Beach Mayor Ellen Glasser; Jacksonville City Council President Sam Newby; Jacksonville City Council Member Ju’Coby Pittman and Florida Dept. of Health Nassau County Director Mary Von Mohr. Keynote Speaker: Gil Penalosa, founder and chair of 8 80 Cities, an ambassador for World Urban Parks. President of Gil Penalosa & Associates. Also, the founder and Advocate, Our Third Act.
