Description

I am rehoming, Joey, my Sulcata tortoise. I love him very much, but I don't have the time to give him the attention he needs. I also have health issues that make carrying him and lifting him into the tub difficult. I'm not sure how old he is but he weighs 16 pounds, so he is between 3 and 5 years old. He is very sweet and lovable and does great with cats and dogs and he doesn't mind crowds. Joey has attended many parties at my home and had fun. Joey doesn't live in a tank because he is so big. We created an enclosure for him in our walk-in closet. He sleeps in his enclosure at night and walks around the house during the day. He likes to play in his fenced area outside when the temperature is 62 degrees and sunny or higher. He is very smart and knows how to get to his enclosure when he is tired or cold and goes in on his own. His diet consists of mostly leafy green veggies, and he loves corn on the cob and gets it for a snack. When it isn't in season, I heat up frozen corn and give him that for a snack. It isn't too expensive to feed him. I want Joey to go to a good home where he will be well taken care of and will be part of the family. If I could keep him, I would, but with my issues, keeping him isn't best for him. There will be a small rehoming fee of $150, which includes his dishes, nightlights, and heat lights. I can also give you a list of his favorite foods and the best bedding or his enclosure. I just want him in a loving home.
