Beausoleil’s monthly mental health discussion group.
This Month's Topic: Embodiment - What it means to be in our bodies, love our bodies, and heal them, even when we dislike our body.
Becca Bowers is a mental health professional who is passionate about combining mind, body, and spirit in her work. She successfully works with people to overcome trauma through the use of talk therapy and body work. Embodiment practices can be done in small, gentle ways, or big and assertive ways. She works with each person, whether it be in groups, or individuals, to teach how they can connect back to their bodies and heal what their soul longs to be free of.
Becca will be leading a conversation on embodiment, a topic explored by Hillary McBride in Mothers, Daughters, and Body Image and her upcoming book The Wisdom of Your Body. There is no requirement to read or purchase the book, but if you would like to support Beausoleil Books, please shop through our Bookshop and Libro.fm affiliate links.
Trigger warning: There will be mirrors present and discussion will include an encouragement to neutrally/kindly address your body.
More than just a local bookstore, Beausoleil Books hopes to bring the Acadiana community closer and create space for togetherness.
