18 hole course will be designed to challenge players while enjoying the beautiful scenic Municipal Park wildlife, trails, and waterfronts. The Valley Disc Golf Store, South Texas Literacy Coalition, and the City of Edinburg is hosting a Charity Disc Golf Tournament at Edinburg Municipal Park on Sunday, November 7, 2021, starting at 9:00am. Our goal is to reach a total of 100 participants between the Open, Recreational, and Novice Divisions! Proceeds from this charity tournament will go toward supporting the South Texas Literacy Coalition with the hopes to provide 2,000 New books to children during the Edinburg Cares Thanksgiving Distribution. This 18 hole course will be designed to challenge players while enjoying the beautiful scenic Municipal Park wildlife, trails, and waterfronts. Prizes and cash payouts will be posted over the next week along with more event details! The South Texas Literacy Coalition (STLC) distributes yearly more than 60,000 new free books to families throughout the Rio Grande Valley, presents free financial literacy workshops, coordinates book festivals, and hosts the yearly Literacy Symposium for teachers, librarians, and daycare facility staff in order to enhance the quality of life of our region with literacy outreach.
