SARASOTA, FL — A deadly traffic crash that killed a pedestrian crossing N. Washington Boulevard (U.S. 301) Wednesday night is under investigation by Sarasota Police Department's traffic unit. Around 10:30 p.m., a man was crossing U.S. 301 near the intersection of 21st Street when he was hit by a vehicle, Sarasota police said in a news release. The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators. The pedestrian died as a result of his injuries, police said.
