FRAMINGHAM, MA — Coronavirus cases were seen on downswing in the city's weekly case report, although Framingham added one new death due to an address update.
As of Wednesday, there were 160 active coronavirus cases in Framingham. The city was adding 6.54 new cases per day per 100,000 people over the past two weeks, lower than the previous period. The city's positive test rate was also lower at 1.09 percent.
The new death brings the city's pandemic death toll to 252. The person died in a facility outside Framingham in spring 2020, but the person's address was only recently updated to reflect where they lived. The 251st coronavirus death was reported on Aug. 19, and the 250th on June 9.
On the vaccine front, just over 52,000 of Framingham's 72,362 residents. That means 71 percent of city residents are fully vaccinated. Another 5,700 have received a first dose of the vaccine.
