Brookline High School's New STEM Wing Is Now Complete

BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline High School has reached a milestone in its renovation and expansion project with the completion of its new STEM Wing just in time for the 2021-22 school year. According to the project developer Skanska, the 70,000-square-foot STEM Wing will feature biology and chemistry labs and classrooms, collaboration and maker spaces, a culinary arts kitchen, and a student restaurant with café seating. BHS's expansion project is expected to be completed by November 2021 and includes the construction of a brand new, approximately 118,000-square-foot building at 111 Cypress St. that will span partially over the MBTA Green Line's Brookline Hills Station and feature classrooms for general use, event and collaboration spaces, dining and food service areas, and a library. In addition, renovations and improvements will be made to the 3rd floor Old Science Labs and Deferred Maintenance of the main building, UAB and the Tappan gymnasium, and Cypress Playground. The high school expansion project is part of an ongoing response to a growing number of students entering the Brookline School District.
