BOSTON — After getting caught bragging to another officer about running people down with his police cruiser during the George Floyd demonstrations in May last year, the Boston Police sergeant has been reinstated back to full active duty.
Many of the officers wore cameras during the protests, and cameras recorded the incidents that followed.
Eoin Higgins' reported video of Sgt. Clifton McHale shown below surfaced when an officer's body camera footage hit The Appeal in December last year.
In full view of an officer whose bodycam was turned on, McHale is seen telling the officer about how he used his cruiser to attack demonstrators.
"So then, I had to keep running - hitting people with my car-" McHale is heard saying.
The officer wearing the camera turns away, motions to McHale, and says, "This thing is on."
As he turns back, McHale takes back what he says, "I know - what I'm saying though...I didn't hit anybody, just driving."
