Death and Dying Practices On this candlelit evening tour, travel back in time to explore the deaths, funerals, and autopsies that occurred in the Hackley and Hume Houses. Become immersed in the practices and traditions of death and dying in the Victorian Era. Space is limited, so be sure to order your tickets quickly! Any intoxicated patrons will be refused admission with no refund. When you arrive, check-in the City Barn (carriage house) between and behind the Hackley and Hume Historic Site. Free Parking - on Webster Avenue & 6th Street. Please arrive on time! The Hackley and Hume Historic Site tells the story of two men who used their business educations, work experiences, and natural talents to take advantage of lumbering opportunities in Muskegon and build vast fortunes. They not only worked together, but built homes on the same piece of land. The homes feature many original stained glass windows, exquisite wood carving, and period furnishings.
