Here are the top stories today in Burlington: The teen accused of firing a gun inside the University Mall in South Burlington this past February is to be charged as an adult in criminal court. Prosecutors say Tyshane Smith shot a gun multiple times inside the mall. One person was sent to the hospital with injuries. Smith, who was 18 at the time, was later found and arrested in Florida. (WCAX) Addiction services in Burlington are stretched thin as substance abuse has soared during the pandemic. Burlington police say there is nearly three times the number of opioid overdoses in the city this year compared to two years ago. Employees at the Howard Center say they're trying their best to provide resources, however, staffing issues are making their job difficult.
