POINT PLEASANT, NJ – The borough of Point Pleasant saw a 32.5 percent increase in the number of beach badges sold this summer compared to last year, according to borough officials. 2,2121 beach badges were sold for the borough's two river beaches, Maxon Avenue and River Avenue, this summer, bring in for the borough $37,181. Last summer, the borough only sold 1,600 badges for a total of $29,4700. Borough officials were pleased with how the summer went at the two beaches. "River Avenue and Maxson Avenue Beaches are really the jewels of Point Borough," Councilman Bill Borowsky, who chairs the Council's Recreation Committee, said. "We've made a ton of improvements at both these facilities over the last few years, and we're happy our residents enjoy it there. They are places you can go with your small children and not have to worry about the crowds at our neighboring towns' ocean beaches."
