LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Washington Township Police Department charged a man and woman on Wednesday with shoplifting at Target, according to a police department spokesperson.
Lt. Mark Niemynski announced that the department charged a man from Irvington and a woman from Newark, declining to name either of them, with taking $1,626 in electronics from the Target store on Route 46.
The pair, who police say shoplifted on Aug. 25, have upcoming court hearings in Morris County's Superior Court.
Police previously reported on another August incident that happened 10 days earlier, when responding officers stopped two men spotted by the store's loss prevention department, as they were leaving Target's parking lot. Niemynski said in that case, one of the two was being sought for shoplifting incidents in other towns, involving $30,000 in missing items.
Two men were also charged on Oct. 1 by the police department for taking $500 in electronics from the store on Sept. 12.
