JERSEY CITY, NJ - A 31-year-old man remained hospitalized Thursday in critical condition, with life-threatening injuries, one day after jumping from the ninth-story window of a Jersey City high rise and landing on a BMW parked on the street, according to a Jersey City spokesperson. The incident, which occurred at approximately 10:25 a.m. Wednesday was classified an an attempted suicide, authorities said. Jersey City spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said the man jumped from a building at 26 Journal Square, located at the intersection of Sip Avenue and Enos Place, and landed on a 2018 black BMW 330. The car was parked on the Enos Place side of the building, NJ.com reported. Witnesses at the scene called 911 and rushed to the man's aid. He was taken to a local hospital. One witness, Christina Smith, told the Hudson Valley Daily Voice that she saw the fall out of the corner of her eye. Smith said the man landed on the car, got up, and then fell to the ground. "The sound was very loud. He was screaming 'help,'" Smith said. "I was trying to tell him to calm down and stop moving."
