By John Gibson, WNIN Oct. 6, 2021 Two more COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in Vanderburgh County. The Indiana Department of Health raised the county's pandemic death toll by two, to 465. The agency also recorded one new fatality in Dubois County and another in Spencer County on the Tuesday dashboard. New full vaccinations outnumbered new infections in Vanderburgh County 62-to-50, while the local seven-day positivity rate among individuals stood at 20 percent. Across the 12-county region of southwest Indiana, COVID hospitalizations fell to 170 – the lowest level since mid-August. About a third of intensive care beds in the district were listed as available. Across Indiana, the death toll jumped by 69 with more than 2,100 new infections. The state's seven-day positivity rate stood just below 18 percent. Five new COVID-19 related deaths and more than 400 new infections are reported in western Kentucky.
