EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Confirmed cases dropped noticeably last week in Evergreen Park, according to new data from the Cook County Department of Public Health.
Confirmed cases have decreased by 38% over the past 14 days in Evergreen Park. 18 cases were reported last week, making for a weekly case rate of 91 cases per 100,000 people. The village has seen a total of 2,453 confirmed cases, making for a total confirmed case rate of 12,281 per 100,000 people.
Weekly counts and rates are updated each Wednesday, and represent cases reported the previous Sunday through Saturday. According to a line graph on the CCDPH site, Evergreen Park case rates have more or less matched those of Suburban Cook County over the course of the pandemic.
Evergreen Park falls just below Suburban Cook County in terms of vaccination rates. 13,152 people, or 66.3% of the population, have received at least one dose, while 10,778 people, or 54.3%, have received both.
In Suburban Cook County, 1,520,821 people, or 66.8% of the total population, have received at least one dose. 1,237,883 people, or 54.4% of the population, have received both.
In Suburban Cook County, there have been 282,870 confirmed cases and 4,732 deaths as of Oct. 7. The weekly case rate is 120 per 100,000 people, and there has been a 2.3% test positivity last week.
