Description
This presentation will honor the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Program, which ran from 1961 to 1972. Aided by a three-foot scale model of the Saturn V, it will cover the history of the Apollo Program, a little rocket science, and the Apollo 11 mission profile from liftoff to splashdown.
The talk is open to all students as well as the general public. It will be held at the Huntington Learning Center on Oct 15, 2021 from 11am -12:30pm.
Presented by John Blankinship, a math tutor at the Huntington Learning Center. John holds B.S. degrees in Physics and Aeronautics & Astronautics from MIT, and worked at Grumman Aerospace from 1969-75 when Grumman built the Lunar Module for the Apollo Program.
