Pedestrian Hit By Car While Jaywalking: Bolingbrook Police

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A pedestrian was hit by a car near the intersection of Lily Cache Lane and Schmidt Road while jaywalking Wednesday afternoon, police said. The 58-year-old woman was crossing the street about 10 feet from the intersection's crosswalk as a car, driving south on Schmidt Road, was turning east onto Lily Cache Lane, according to police. Police said the 20-year-old Joliet driver was mid-turn when he saw the woman in the road, but he couldn't stop in time. The woman was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the crash is currently under investigation, and no citations have been issued.
