MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Severe storms in Alabama caused major flooding and damage in the Birmingham metro, and resulted in the closure of several roads in Mountain Brook Thursday. City officials Thursday morning said the following roads were still impassable: Mountain Brook ParkwayOld Leeds Road at Shady LaneMontevallo Road at Richmar Drive4135 Old Leeds RoadRichmar Drive at MOntevallo Lane3300 block of Cherokee Road2900 block of Balmoral"Do not attempt to cross downed power lines as they may be active," a statement from Mountain Brook city officials said Thursday.
