Seeking Fem Vocals for Acoustic Duo
Meets
Mount Horeb WI
Description
I'd like to collaborate with a strong female singer who is comfortable singing both leads and harmonies, and who would enjoy singing a fun mix of recent tunes, Boomer classics, 80s sass, vintage blues/jazz, and a few folk/country-esque numbers for good measure. If you happen to also play an instrument, that would be great, but the main thing is your vocals. I play guitar and sing, both leads and harmonies. I've been playing guitar for a long time, have evolved my own styles of play that mix an assortment of strumming and picking techniques. If you're interested, I can point you to a youtube playlist with a few demos of things we've done. Of course you'll have your own tastes and preferences, and I'm not looking to be anybody's boss. By all means bring your own style and material to the mix, and let's see how we can blend things together. I've played with a few different partners in recent years, but each has moved on (amicably) for various reasons. I'm Boomer vintage, and my partners have been 30-ish to early 40s, so our acoustic arrangements have drawn from a half-century of great material including Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, Shawn Colvin, ZZ Ward, Lady Gaga, Colbie Caillat, Sara Bareilles, Fleetwood Mac, Springsteen, Beatles, Norah Jones, Lake Street Dive, PMJ, Emmylou Harris, James Taylor, Pretenders, a few Motown/R&B tunes, and so forth. If you like singing some or all of these sorts of things, please tell me a little about yourself. If you have any links to your work, or maybe some MP3s you could attach, that would be great. btw, I am vaxxed and pro-mask, and hope you are too. I'll be getting my booster shot in a couple weeks. I have rehearsal space here in a room where we can open some windows and sit 14-16' apart, so two vaxxed people can sing unmasked with minimal risk of exposure. I've never had any illusions about getting rich-n-famous, but it's creatively satisfying, and fun, and a few local venues have been kind enough to pay us a few bucks and invite us back :-)
