Job Description Floor Technician job description Location is the University of Reno and Redfield Campus Starting pay is 16.00 per hour Hiring Bonus: $100.00 see manager for details Immediately hiring ! Under the direction of the Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing and maintaining a clean and safe environment by ensuring that all floor surfaces are properly cleaned in an educational building and related areas. Superior customer service will be provided, as well company policies and procedures followed at all times. Knowledge of proper floor care procedures and techniques are essential this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Daily job responsibilities to include, but not limited to: Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition. Perform proper techniques of floor care and preparation of all areas to be cleaned, buffed, stripped or waxed as well as carpet cleaning. Operate all floor cleaning/ finishing equipment to include but not limited to buffers, water extractors and carpet cleaning equipment. Proper labeling, dilution and use of chemicals. Report need repairs and safety hazards. Must be able to meet attendance work schedules with dependability and consistency. Tardiness and unexcused absences will place hardship on coworkers and interfere with cleaning schedules. Perform other routine maintenance duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of floor care equipment, products, techniques, and standards. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Good customer service skills. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to work effectively and independently. Ability to meet schedules and timelines. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of one year or more related experience. Working Environment: The work is performed at an educational setting, with a wide variety of people with different personalities, functions and abilities. Physical Demands: The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching and occasionally lift up to fifty pounds. Items over fifty pounds will require a team lift. Carrying a backpack vacuum for an extended period of time. Employee will frequently be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and noise. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques, and standards. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Good customer service skills. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to work effectively with a team, as well as independently. Ability to meet and lead other to meet schedules and timelines. Ability to rain and provide work directions to others. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of one year or more related experience. Ability to pass a background check Active Driver License Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking and climbing stairs, twisting, bending and squatting is required. Lifting of less than 50lbs is required. Items over fifty pounds will require team lift. Carrying a backpack vacuum for an extended period of time.
