novice bass player looking to try to jam with others

I am a older dude who actually is a singer/songwriter that has played here in Austin and outside of Texas doing my own project but I am looking for others to jam with on bass which I have never done before. I would be most interested in originals, rock, punk, grunge or really just anything except country. I am very new to the bass but have played out as a musician for some time both in a band and solo.
