Description
Job Summary:
Performs a variety of general cleaning and maintenance duties as related to hospital environment. Performs all phases of room care and other duties as needed.
Job Duties, Critical Functions:
Washes walls, ceilings, doors, and doorframes.
Cleans lighting fixtures, windows.
Mops, sweeps, waxes, scrubs, strips, shampoos floors, carpets and stairs.
Polishes furniture, shampoos furniture, and chairs.
Assists in moving heavy objects and furniture.
Clean restroom, re-stock supplies, cleans plumbing fixtures, sinks, showers, tubs, etc.
Removes trash and soiled linen, handles medical waste and sharps containers, and recyclable materials.
Between case cleaning/transplant/isolation room cleaning and terminal cleaning.
Clean cabinets, refrigerators ice chest, O.R. equipment, ER equipment, gurneys water fountains, etc.
Cleans and makes beds.
Stocks clean linen.
Changes window and cubicle curtains.
Dilutes chemicals as directed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Capabilities: Physical Demands:
Able to bend, stoop, carry, kneel, push, pull, and lift. Standing 10%
Knowledge and use of a ladder. Walking 35%
Push stocked carts of up to 80 pounds. Twisting 25%
Reaching overhead. Kneeling 10%
Push and pull carts over uneven surfaces. Crouching 10%
Reaching 10%
Mental Capabilities:
Adequate written and oral English language skills.
Capable of passing class I physical.
Ability to take directions and carry them out completely and efficiently.
Experience preferred.
Must be available all shifts, any day.
Must be people orientated.
