Description

Job Summary: Performs a variety of general cleaning and maintenance duties as related to hospital environment. Performs all phases of room care and other duties as needed. Job Duties, Critical Functions:  Washes walls, ceilings, doors, and doorframes.  Cleans lighting fixtures, windows.  Mops, sweeps, waxes, scrubs, strips, shampoos floors, carpets and stairs.  Polishes furniture, shampoos furniture, and chairs.  Assists in moving heavy objects and furniture.  Clean restroom, re-stock supplies, cleans plumbing fixtures, sinks, showers, tubs, etc.  Removes trash and soiled linen, handles medical waste and sharps containers, and recyclable materials.  Between case cleaning/transplant/isolation room cleaning and terminal cleaning.  Clean cabinets, refrigerators ice chest, O.R. equipment, ER equipment, gurneys water fountains, etc.  Cleans and makes beds.  Stocks clean linen.  Changes window and cubicle curtains.  Dilutes chemicals as directed.  Performs other duties as assigned. Physical Capabilities: Physical Demands: Able to bend, stoop, carry, kneel, push, pull, and lift. Standing 10% Knowledge and use of a ladder. Walking 35% Push stocked carts of up to 80 pounds. Twisting 25% Reaching overhead. Kneeling 10% Push and pull carts over uneven surfaces. Crouching 10% Reaching 10% Mental Capabilities:  Adequate written and oral English language skills.  Capable of passing class I physical.  Ability to take directions and carry them out completely and efficiently.  Experience preferred.  Must be available all shifts, any day.  Must be people orientated.
