LOVE PUPPIES? This unique and rewarding volunteer opportunity is for you! The Jumpstart Puppy Program is a 4-week training program that includes potty training, basic obedience, and intensive socialization. Our training methods are reward-based and non-aversive. We are a tight knit and friendly establishment, valuing teamwork and a sense of humor. Our volunteers play an important role in the socialization process, by directly working with puppies in ways that are consistent with our training protocols and, above all else, ensuring SAFETY in all social encounters between puppies. To begin, we are seeking volunteers who can commit to 2 shifts per week (times below) or 1 full day per week (8:30am to 3:00pm) Morning shift; (9:30 am-12 pm): Assist with outdoor training. Afternoon shift; (12:30-3 pm): Assist with lunch/nap-time routine and moderate small group play. Employment may be considered for the right candidate. Requirements: Must be 21 and have a valid driver's license. Have reliable transportation. Physically able to lift a 25 lb. puppy with ease, stand for extended periods of time, run, jump, twist and bend (that's puppies for you). We are vaccinated and require our Volunteers to be also.
