10-21 Chapter Meeting
The presentation will review the varying sources of moisture in ventilated attics, from condensation due to night sky radiation, to air leakage, good old fashioned leaks around and through asphalt shingles. Differences will be highlighted between the performance of historical and modern highly insulated attic spaces, followed by some suggestions for how to approach ventilating modern roof assemblies. The presentation will also briefly cover updates to the Washington State whole building air leakage testing requirements.
