Garlic Planting and Garden Winterization Workshop at the PEG Demo Garden
Planting garlic cloves in mid-October is the final act of planting in the home garden for the year. What's more, garlic is one of the easiest vegetables to grow in your garden! Come learn all about how to grow garlic in your home garden. We will also discuss and demonstrate garden winterization techniques. Every participant will take home a head of organic seed garlic for planting in their garden!
During this workshop we will discuss:
Types of garlic (hardneck vs. softneck)Growth habit and life cycle of garlic in your gardenHow to plant, tend, and harvest garlicHow to winterize your vegetable garden to protect your soil during the rainy seasonThe registration fee is on a sliding scale with suggested donation of $10-$50. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
All proceeds from this workshop will be donated to the Oregon Food Bank.
