Traditional Palestinian Embroidery, Tatreez for beginners with Jenna Noelle The Center for the Study and Preservation of Palestine welcomes local Tatreez artist Jenna Noelle hosting an embroidery workshop for the Palestinian community and friends. The event takes place October 16th at 2pm to 5pm as a part of our Palestine Through the Senses gatherings sponsored by the City of Portland. Jenna Noelle is a Palestinian American currently residing in the Pacific Northwest. From 2013-2015, she studied Palestinian embroidery through the Traditional Arts and Apprenticeship Program through the Oregon Folklife Network. Currently, she’s researching new ways to use and explore Palestinian embroidery through different textile techniques and stories. Workshop is Free. Only 10 spaces available but if you don't get in, feel free to show up at 2pm in case we have cancellations. ADA accessible space. Come a little early if you want some food (come around back to the alleyway) Masks Required for Entry. This workshop welcomes attentive youth but is not appropriate for young children (scissors/needles). Feel free to email [email protected] if you have questions about the workshop. All materials EXCEPT scissors will be provided by the CSPP so bring a pair of scissors. Embroidery/Sewing scissors are best but any will do.
