The Englewood Public Library offers a community-participation program “Memories of the Fourth Ward” The idea is for all from the 4th (past and present) to tell stories about the people, places and things of the 4th Ward, an area overflowing with history and character (and characters). The Fourth Ward has a unique history in Englewood, and there are families in the Fourth Ward who can trace their ancestry here back to the nineteenth century. There are so many people, places and events in the Fourth Ward that have helped to create a special sense of community and cohesion that is increasingly rare to find in our society. We invite all from the Fourth (past and current) to share their memories; whether it is growing up there or if theirs was a short stay.
