Description

An arts festival with performances, showcases, and films from local, IU alumn, and IU student artists. Hi! My name is Nick Comer and I'm a recent graduate from IU and an independent filmmaker. My newest art film, Threesomes Are More Sad Than Fun (You, Yourself, and Me), about my experience in an abusive relationship has generated a lot of unexpected noise and I want to use this momentum to give back. Therefore, the world premiere of Threesomes Are More Sad Than Fun will be right here in Bloomington! Somewhere In Between, named after the third act in my film, is a charity arts festival in support of Middle Way House. The artists invited to showcase their work vary from dancers to poets, filmmakers to musicians, and photographers to painters. Middle Way House works to support all survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking; and to educate the community through their outreach and prevention program. 5:00 - 5:30 PM: Take your time to peruse the showcases and artists set up around the venue, purchase a beer, wine, or other refreshments, and even purchase items from the artists themselves. 5:30 - 7:00 PM: Performances from dancers, poets, comedians, and musicians, including a never-been-done-before performance art piece. 7:00 - 8:30 PM: A mini film festival choked full of films from some of IU's most talented filmmakers. 8:30 - 9:00 PM: The world premiere of Threesomes Are More Sad Than Fun (You, Yourself, and Me) Please join me and all these incredible local artists for a night of beautiful artwork, performances, and films to help raise money for Middle Way House and show your support for not only the film and artists but survivors of abuse everywhere on November 13th from 5:00-9:00 pm. If you or someone you know is experiencing intimate partner violence, The National Domestic Violence Hotline is available 24/7/365 at (800) 799-7233, or safely visit their website, www.thehotline.org. You can also call The Middle Way House's 24/7 crisis hotline: (812) 336-0846. The event is free to enter, but there is a suggested donation of $5. Refreshments, as well as raffle tickets for a dope gift basket, will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the event will go to Middle Way House. You can find out more about Middle Way House here. COVID-19 GUIDELINES All people in attendance who desire to not wear a mask, must show their COVID-19 vaccination card, a digital picture of it, or a printed copy of it at the door. You must have been fully vaccinated within 2 weeks of the festival. Any unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated individuals must present a negative COVID test within 48 hours of the event.
