The Korean Cultural Center of Chicago will host the K experience event, Netflix’s ’Squid Game’, Korean childhood games from the past, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM on Saturday, November 6th. The purpose is to raise awareness of the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago and to promote Korean culture in the mainstream society in the midst of current #1 drama on Netflix and with the growing popularity of K-dramas.
The Event will be divided into 6 Game Stations which will include the ‘Squid Game’, ‘Honeycomb shape cutting’, ‘Marble Games’, ‘Ddakji Game’, ‘Tug of War’ and ‘Red Light, Green Light’. Games will be held at the Cultural Center within the Event Hall, Gallery, Museum, and Cultural Center Park.
In particular, for this event, the Chicago Korean Education Center and the KCCoC Junior Ambassador Youth Volunteer Group will assist in the game progress. Since there will be no sharing of foods due to Covid-19, popular Korean snacks will be up for grabs as prizes.

Since its inception in June 2011, the non-profit mission of the KCCoC has been to organize andpromote Korean cultural, arts, educational, and social activities, and thereby encourage cross-cultural learning.
The KCCoC currently offers more than 70 programs and classes that celebrate Korean culture and heritage. We estimate that annual traffic to the KCCoC has reached over 70,000 visits and that the growth rate of attendance has increased over 10% per year.
