Williams says, “There is still great interest in everything about Dick Gregory.” His life experiences spanning over eight decades remain relevant to today's events and political opposition. His fiery speeches continue to influence and ignite leaders young and old, and many comedians pray to write and deliver jokes with his prowess. This being said, there is more to Dick Gregory than meets the average eye and Dr. Williams qualifies to share his unique and appealing attributes less known to the public. About the Author: Dr. E. Faye Williams, Esq. • Author • Professor/Teacher • Radio Talk Show Host • Business Woman • Human Rights Activist • Attorney • Ordained Minister • Journalist Dr. Williams is the National President and CEO of the National Congress of Black Women and former Counsel to the U.S. Congress’ District of Columbia Sub-Committee on Judiciary and Education. She’s a former Professor of International Law at Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge. She previously served as Chief of Staff for the late Marion Barry. She’s a former teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She served President Barack Obama as a member of his Presidential Scholars Commission. She is currently a Board Member of the World Conference of Mayors. She holds a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Southern California; a Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law; Administration and Supervision Credentials from U.C.L.A; a BS Degree from Grambling State University and a PhD in Public Administration from City University of Los Angeles. She completed her Doctor of Ministry degree at Wesley Theological Seminary. She studied at Atlanta Law School, the University of Michigan, Pepperdine University and George Washington University — where she received credentials in the Education Policy Fellowship Program at the latter. She was the first African American to run a viable political campaign for the U.S. Congress in Louisiana – narrowly missing victory after a mysterious “computer breakdown”. She received nearly 100,000 votes and came within 6/10ths of 1% of being credited with winning a Congressional seat. Supporters often refer to her as “Louisiana’s Congresswoman in Exile”. She later worked briefly as White House Liaison to the U.S. Department of Energy during the Clinton Administration. She’s a prolific public speaker and speaks for numerous events throughout the world. She has appeared on many radio and television programs, including BET, CBS, CNN, NPR, Good Morning America, the Canadian Broadcasting System, C-Span, MSNBC’s Hard Ball, Louisiana Radio Network and others. She hosts the WPFW FM Radio Show called "WAKE UP and STAY WOKE" every Wednesday at 10am(EST) in remembrance of Civil Rights Activist Dick Gregory. She is a Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc.; a Life Member of the National Congress of Black Women, Inc.; a Life Member of the NAACP; a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and Alpha Kappa Mu National Honor Society. For nearly 10 years, she served as President of the Grambling Alum ni Association. She was inducted into The HistoryMakers and the Grambling University Hall of Fame. She re ceived the Winnie Mandela Endurance with Dignity Award from the Support A Child Foundation, Inc. She was inducted into Ford Motor Company’s Freedom Sisters. She has been recognized as one of Ebony Maga zine’s “100 Most Influential Black Americans” and “Power 150″. She’s a weekly contributing writer for Trice Edney Wire Service. She is a Louisiana native, and comes from a family of nine children. She is an ordained minister at Greater Works Christian Church of Suitland, MD.
