Alebrijes are bright colored Mexican folk art sculptures of fantastical creatures. Alebrije Workshop Oct. 28, 2021 at 6pm. At the Sherman Heights Community Center Get your tickets for $25 at on Eventbrite Please note that the safety and health of our staff and community members is a priority. Masks will be required for all who participate in Día de los Muertos in-person indoor offerings, including vaccinated visitors. Masks are strongly encouraged for our outdoors offerings, with the exception of our “Candle-light Procession” which will be a masked event for all participants. Join us for a Alebrije Workshop. The workshop is taught by Cynthia Soto. In this workshop, you will learn traditionally alebrijes how they are painted animal figurines that have become a form of symnolic art from Mexico. Space is limited so make sure to reserve your spot! No walk-ins. La Catrina Art Workshops series is inspired by The Day of the Dead. Your participation will help fund the Sherman Heights year round activities including free arts & culture programming.
