Description

If you're interested in volunteering for our annual Fall Food Drive, sign up for a shift here! There are three shift options available. Every year, Family Service (in partnership with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) hosts our Fall Food Drive, where 15,000 bags go out to the local community with instructions on how to donate non-perishable food to our organization. The bags are picked up and volunteers at Family Service then sort the food. Our Fall Food Drive is monumental in helping stock our food pantry for the year, so we would greatly appreciate any individuals interested in volunteering for this event. Volunteers may be asked to help receive, weigh, and sort donations. Heavy lifting may be required for volunteers who help unload our bins and load pallets. Shift Information: Our Fall Food Drive runs from 9:30am to 4:00pm. We have split the duration of this event into 2 to 2.5 hour shifts as there is a lot of physical labor involved. Please click "Register" to view the shift options. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for multiple shifts if they'd like the exercise! If volunteering with a family or group, each person (including children) must be signed up. For example, if you have a family of 5, you will have to sign up 5 times under each individual's name.COVID-19 Information: To ensure the safety of all volunteers, we have a cap of 100 volunteers per shift to maintain social distancing. We ask that all individuals interested in volunteering for our Fall Food Drive sign-up for the shift(s) they are interested in prior to arriving at our site. Masks are required both outdoor and indoors. Gloves and hand sanitizer will be provided for all volunteers.Frequently Asked Questions:1. Eventbrite isn't letting me sign up for a shift, why? If you are unable to sign up, we have reached max capacity for volunteers for that specific shift. Please check openings for other shift times. We apologize for the inconvenience! 2. Can I volunteer with my family or in a group? Yes, of course! However, we ask that each person (including children) sign up separately. 3. What should I wear? Comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes. 4. Will heavy lifting be required? Many of the volunteer positions require heavy lifting; crates of cans, wooden pallets, heavy bags, etc. Please let a staff member know if you are unable to lift heavy items and we will assign a role more suitable for you.
