Igniting Black Citizenry Progression: Economically, Civically and Socially The Charleston Area Black Caucus will host a 2-day convention where policy makers, elected officials, civic + religious leaders, and corporate citizens will convene to discuss community and legislative priorities for 2022. Be a part of the leading convention on issues and results impacting African Americans and the Black community in Charleston. The mission of the convention is to Educate the Black Citizenry, and strengthen Political Influence. It is through education and action that we will continue to lead the passage of legislation that can positively affect change across the Tri-County area of Charleston. The conference will feature a day of business and political education sessions, followed by a Happy Hour Networking Gathering celebrating healthcare workers, first responders and educators. The convention will conclude the following day with a Leadership Gala focused on vendor opportunities for political campaign fundraising, small businesses recognition and much more. CABC will exercise the following practices: >Mask Worn >Social Distancing >Temperature Check >Liability Waiver For more COVID-19 information and resources, please visit www.cdc.gov The Charleston Area Black Caucus was founded in January of 2020 as a Political Action Committee (PAC) by a group of local Millennial leaders who desired to ensure that the true influence of the African American Community in Charleston and its surrounding counties would be represented and respected amongst all political dealings within local, state, and national government. The Immediate 5 Year Plan: Register as many black voters as possible Educate the registered voters on the importance of registering and voting in every election cycle Provide Candidate forums where we vet and endorse candidates whom we believe will speak to the issues of the black community Lobby for issues that impact the black community; namely economic empowerment, social and civic welfare, education and political activity Hold fundraiser to build a proper budget and foundation to promote the plans and agendas, along with fostering political education throughout the black community.
