Description
PALM HARBOR, FL — A fundraiser to help Palm Harbor Fire Rescue Lt. Ashley White and her family manage expenses after being critically injured will take place Saturday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Tarpon Springs Elks Lodge 179, 237 S. Pinellas Ave., Tarpon Springs.
The event will include food, music and chance baskets.
All funds raised will go to the 38-year-old mother, who was critically injured Sept. 22 when she was struck by a speeding pickup truck while responding to a crash scene at U.S. 19 near Innisbrook Drive.
Her crew immediately rendered aid and Sunstar paramedic Joseph Schifano, EMT Jerome Cudal and supervisor Jason Rios responded and rushed White and her crew who were in the road with her to Bayfront Hospital St. Petersburg.
On Wednesday morning, Palm Harbor Fire Chief Scott Sanford and firefighters union President Greg Smart met with the Sunstar employees in person to thank them for their quick response and life-saving efforts.
Following surgeries on her leg and arm, White was released from the hospital last week but faces more surgeries and months of rehabilitation.
