POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Roastery Operations Manager, the Production Associate will support Equator’s operations by fulfilling orders in an accurate and timely manner. A successful candidate has a strong work ethic, be detail-oriented, be proactive, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy physical work. In this position we will be offering an introduction to roasting with the opportunity to learn and work on the roasting side of production 1-2 days a week. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Work as part of fast-paced team to fulfill wholesale and retail orders accurately and efficiently. • Learn to use and successfully operate the weigh and fill machines, band sealers, scales and grinders. • Communicate with team members on a regular basis to ensure accurate fulfillment and production. • Show initiative, present a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and take direction. • Learn to roast on all production systems: Loring S70 Peregrine, Loring K35 Kestrel, Petroncini, and Probat sample roaster. • Develop working knowledge of all roasting systems (manual, mechanized, electrical, and digital.) REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES • Follow direction • Ability to work as part of a team • Attention-to-detail • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES • Familiarity with fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and general warehouse work • Coffee knowledge a plus PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical tasks described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
