STAMFORD, CT — Two Stamford teens have been arrested in connection with a robbery and shooting that left a 60-year-old man injured in the early morning hours of Oct. 1, police said. An investigation is underway into three other juveniles who were involved, and police said they expect additional arrests in the case. Around 2:30 a.m. last Friday, five juveniles approached a man in the area of 695 Pacific St. in Stamford and demanded his money, according to Capt. Richard Conklin of the Stamford Police Department. "The man resisted, two of the males displayed guns, and he was shot in the upper right arm during that robbery and assault," Conklin added, noting that about $100 was taken. Officers found the victim and applied a tourniquet to his upper arm, and he was transported to Stamford Hospital. "Hospital personnel commented that the use of the tourniquet by the uniformed officers certainly had a positive result in this case," Conklin said. On Oct. 4, a 15-year-old female was arrested and charged with first-degree conspiracy at assault and first-degree conspiracy at robbery. An arrest warrant was also developed for a 15-year-old male who was identified as the lone shooter, Conklin said. On Oct. 5, officers went to a residence in Stamford's South End around 5:30 a.m. looking for the juvenile, but he wasn't home. Conklin said they went to another location at a friend's house, and couldn't find him there either. Eventually, officers made contact with the teen, and he agreed to meet and surrender in the South End, Conklin noted. The teen was charged with first-degree assault; first-degree robbery; first-degree conspiracy at assault and robbery; carrying a pistol without a permit; unlawful discharge of a firearm; second-degree larceny; and second-degree conspiracy at larceny, Conklin said. He was remanded to the custody of the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center. Conklin said the two guns used in the robbery have not been recovered yet.
