Braintree PD Joins Pink Patch Project For Breast Cancer Awareness

BRAINTREE, MA — October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and Braintree police are joining hundreds of first responders across the country and switching their usual police patches in for pink ones. Officers will be wearing the patches as well as selling them — it's all part of the Pink Patch Project. The Pink Patch Project is a nationwide awareness campaign where police departments sell pink patches during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Braintree Police Department will be selling a limited edition patch which showcases the Town of Braintree seal in pink. The patches are $11. All proceeds will go to Marisa's Mission. Marisa's Mission was founded in honor of Marisa Federico, of Braintree, who passed away in 2016, just shy of her 38th birthday from stage 4 breast cancer. Marisa's Mission is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families. Patches can be purchased until the end of October at the Braintree police station or on the department's Facebook shop.
