Description
PT Work – FT Reward You don’t need a college degree… or even a high school diploma… but Horse Experience is a MUST! We are a Miniature Horse showing and private breeding farm, not a boarding facility, and typically have several stallions to handle daily. We are looking for the right person(s) to work with. Being a small acreage farm and limited number of horses, this is a PT job with big time payoff. Work is for 4 days a week (occasionally 5 days when coverage is needed when we are gone). Work is 4-5 hours a day, in exchange for housing and ALL Utilities including Xfinity Wifi and cable TV, Power, Heat, Garbage, and a 1200sq ft 2bd apartment complete with Washer and Dryer, built in dishwasher, microwave and all regular appliances. This is a $1,800 rent value, plus all utilities -$200-$300 worth PAID! No increases to worry about. No month to month guessing if you’ll be able to pay rent. To put this exchange in perspective, this compensation equates to approx. $23-$25 per hour pay! It is an employment opportunity, not a rental situation, and is only offered for the work exchange. (FT instead of PT, or Extra work for additional pay may be available.) Typically only working with no more that 8-10 Miniature Horses, counting foals. Work includes but not limited to: Working in all elements of weather & sometimes on holidays Feeding and preparing the AM & PM feed Light Groom and Turn out of horses Cleaning stalls and waters Daily barn maintenance and aisle upkeep (blowing, raking, cobweb and dust removal) Bringing in the horses Restocking feed & hay to barn & bins, with use of dolly if necessary. Dumping stall cleanings using wheelbarrow. Duty schedule may be flexible to the right person(s). This is not overly hard work, but you may feel it if you are not use to doing physical labor. Safe, Secure and Clean environment. We do have some Restrictions: • No Drugs or Alcohol abuse tolerated! Period! Must be agreeable to drug testing & background check. • Non-smoking housing and work area! No exceptions! • Sorry, no additional pets. Just hasn’t worked out… Ever. • No Drama please… leave it all behind and come have fun at work! • Sorry this employment exchange is not set up to accommodate small children, due to insurance factors. (Does not mean no visiting children on days off, etc) If you think this job may be for you, and your situation compliments this type of work exchange, please respond to complete an online application. Please do not bother responding if you have no horse experience because the horses will know. We are looking to hire long term employment prospect(s). This position is not to provide temporary housing. Who does this situation work best for? It works best for those with the appropriate Horse Experience… • That has another source of income to sustain on, outside of the exchange paid housing and utilities. • Has a work at home job with flexible hours and receives reliable and steady compensation. • A couple where one person works elsewhere and the other stays at home, or who does online education, that doesn’t interfere with the work schedule. • Younger retirees receiving benefits but still in great shape, has the horse experience and wants to still work PT, and likes the farm type lifestyle. • 2 Students shared housing and duties reliably, and have other source of income to sustain on.
