Hood Distribution – McEwen Group is looking for a material handler/machine operator for its Mobile, AL facility. Hood Distribution is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber, plywood, moulding and related wood products whose customers include cabinet shops, millwork houses, retail lumber yards, and similar businesses. This equipment includes a double head surfacing planer, straight line rip saw, moulder and other related machinery. The Mobile facility services the Florida panhandle, South Alabama, South Mississippi and South Louisiana markets. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the facility’s milling equipment. This position will also assist in the warehouse staff in the proper pulling and staging of materials to be processed through the mill. The successful candidate should have experience in warehouse operations, distribution and machinery. Specific knowledge of industrial machinery as it relates to woodworking is preferred. Forklift operation certification and hardwood knowledge is preferred.
