Here are the top stories today in Irving: An 18-year-old is in custody and awaiting charges for an Arlington school shooting, police say. Witnesses say Timothy George Simpkins opened fire at Timberview High School Wednesday morning, shooting two people and leaving four injured. Simpkins fled the scene but was apprehended by early afternoon. (CNN) About 100 people evacuated a business in Irving on Tuesday due to an ammonia leak. An emergency call went in around 4:00 PM, and firefighters were able to clear the building for reentry by 4:40 PM. The address is home to The Children's Health StarCenter, according to Google. No injuries were reported by Irving Weekly.September 15 through October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month.
