Here are the top stories in Franklin and nearby communities today: The Franklin Police Department caught catalytic converter theft suspects after finding 26 stolen converters stuffed into the trunk of a car. 44-year-old Laquetta Eugene of Houston, TX, and 32-year-old Chesare Rivers of Memphis were caught red-handed as the two allegedly were trying to steal another catalytic converter from a car in the Cool Springs Galleria parking lot on Sept. 30. Officers witnessed Rivers under a car with an electric saw prompting the take down. (franklinpdnews.com) A neighborhood dispute between two men lead to a deadly shooting in Franklin on Tuesday evening. Officers identified the victim as 57-year-old Guillermo Leon who was shot outside his home during a dispute with 27-year-old Brenton Johnson on Reveille Court around 5:15 p.m. Johnson was charged with criminal homicide and is being held on a $400,000 bond.
