COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — An Indio man has been linked to a series of commercial burglaries in Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Jose Urbano, 38, was taken into custody late Tuesday morning in the 82000 block of Dr. Carreon Boulevard in Indio. Jail records show he was booked into John Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of second-degree burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle, both felonies. He was also booked on suspicion of several misdemeanor drug, theft, and false identification charges, according to the jail records.
Urbano is suspected of several commercial burglaries that occurred between September 10-25, according to the sheriff's department.
"The suspect in these cases forced his way into locked businesses, taking merchandise from each location," the department reported.
Urbano remained jailed Wednesday in lieu of $100,000 bail. He is due to appear in court Thursday, according to the jail records.
