PITTSBURGH, PA — It's come to this thus far in what is turning into a mighty ugly seasons for your 1-3 Steelers: They are underdogs at home this week as they face the Denver Broncos (3-1), who were shellacked at home themselves last week against the Baltimore Ravens. The Steelers aren't favored in a place where they once were nearly unbeatable because of a 27th-ranked offense that ranks dead last (32nd) in rushing at a paltry 55.3 yards per game. They rank 16th in passing at 246 yards per game, but quarterback Ben Roethlisberger doesn't appear to be able to accurately throw the ball more than a few yards at this late juncture of his career. The Broncos could be without their starting quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater, which would kind of equalize things between the two teams at the position. Bridgewater suffered a concussion last week and his status has been up in the air. After a month of the season, it's difficult to sugarcoat things. The sad realization is that the Steelers no longer appear to be capable of winning with Big Ben under center. Let's hope he proves his many detractors wrong this week. Here's what you need to know about the game: Where: Heinz Field. When: Sunday, 1 p.m.Forecast: Partly sunny, temperatures in the mid-70s. Favored: Denver by 1, according to Oddshark.com. Last meeting: Sept. 20, 2020, Steelers won 26-21. All-time series: Broncos lead 20-12-1. Streak: Steelers won the last game against the Broncos. TV: Fox, with Brandon Gaudin, Mark Schlereth.
