Description
DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Kids Castle playground remains closed as funds continue to come in for renovations that would make it more accessible to all children.
According to the playground's official website, the park is expected to reopen at the end of the year after further renovations are made through the donations.
"Play features are also included for children with visual impairment, hearing impairment, autism/SPD, mobility impairment, and cognitive disabilities."
The funding will also cover costs related to a more durable safety coating called Poured-in-Place (PIP) and expand the overall size of play areas for children.
As of Oct. 6, the playground has received $568,642.50, which is 82% of the park's $691,000 goal. Volunteers have been actively fundraising for the playground since its closure.
The main play area, Central Park, will remain open to the public.
