Press release from the City Of Davis: October 05, 2021 2:35 pm The City of Davis announced today that it will hold a community meeting on Zoom on Wednesday October 13, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the American Rescue Plan (ARP) funding and Davis' allocation. All community members are welcome to attend. The Zoom meeting link is: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88434267825 The City will launch a community survey on October 13 (through November 1) that residents can take to give input on ARP funding priorities. The survey when launched and other ARP web resources can be accessed on the City's ARP webpage at:  https://www.cityofdavis.org/city-hall/city-of-davis-american-rescue-plan-arp At its May 25, 2021, meeting, the Davis City Council received a staff report listing guiding principles for ARP funds use. In addition, there are federal guidelines for how ARP funds can be used. The City of Davis allocation of ARP funds is $19.7 million. ARP funds are intended to be used to respond to the impact of COVID-19 and to assist with efforts to contain COVID-19. City of Davis ARP Funding Guiding Principles are: Prioritize one-time items Recover from COVID-19 revenue losses and accelerate City fiscal re-stabilization Consider nexus to the pandemic Leverage other funds Avoid duplication of funding sources Consider transformational projects Project linkage to City Council goals Federal guidelines are: Support public health expenditures, by, for example, funding COVID-19 mitigation efforts, medical expenses, behavioral healthcare, and certain public health and safety staff Address negative economic impacts caused by the public health emergency, including economic harms to workers, households, small businesses, impacted industries, and the public sector Replace lost public sector revenue, using this funding to provide government services to the extent of the reduction in revenue experienced due to the pandemic Provide premium pay for essential workers, offering additional support to those who have and will bear the greatest health risks because of their service in critical infrastructure sectors Invest in water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure, making necessary investments to improve access to clean drinking water, support vital wastewater and stormwater infrastructure, and to expand access to broadband internet ### Press contact: Barbara Archer, 530-400-3418, [email protected] This press release was produced by the City Of Davis.
