Good Morning Raleigh, it's National Depression Screening Day, Today we've got news of a hazmat situation, a proposal that could affect hundreds of students across Wake County, and a partnership to bolster under-represented businesses. Here are the top stories today in Raleigh: Part of I-540 was closed on Tuesday due to a hazmat situation. According to the Raleigh police, a gallon-sized jug of hydrochloric acid fell off of the back of a truck and spilled onto the road. Raleigh firefighters and hazmat crews were able to neutralize the acid, and no one was hurt during the incident. (abc11) The Wake County Public School System has unveiled its proposal for 2022-23 enrollment reassignment. The district will be accepting feedback on the proposal online prior to adopting the final enrollment plan. The second draft will be presented in November and the final vote is expected December 7. (WRAL) The city had a virtual Q&A on Tuesday to discuss improving the safety and mobility on Six Forks Road stretching from Rowan Street to Lynn Road. The plan will see that portion of the road being expanded to three lanes on each side with a median in the center and bike lanes in both directions. The changes will also result in narrower lanes and a lowered speed limit for safety. (CBS17) Wake Technical Community College is partnering with Downtown Raleigh Alliance to create a new pop-up retail space. The program is now accepting applications from potential tenants. The aim of the program is to give minority and women-owned businesses an increased presence in Downtown Raleigh business ownership. Eastman is running as a Republican against former NC Governor Pat McCrory and Congressman Ted Budd who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump.
