COBB COUNTY, GA — One of Cobb County School District's own is running for the state school superintendent position in 2022.
Dr. Jaha Howard, a Democrat on the CCSD school board, registered to run for the state role Sunday, according to the Georgia Campaign Finance Commission. Richard Woods, a Republican, currently holds the position.
Howard, who owns a pediatric dental practice in Smyrna, and former Republican Georgia Schools Superintendent John Barge are the only two candidates registered to run for the role so far, with the election slated for 2022.
