Powell’s Books, the nation’s top independent bookseller, is looking for an entry-level in-town driver. You don’t have to have experience because training is provided. You get to spend your day driving a Powell’s panel truck between our warehouse and stores, delivering books, gift sidelines, and supplies. It’s the perfect combination of time on your own in the truck and interacting with store staff across the company as you drive a scheduled route. Powell’s is unique in the modern workplace in that you get to say that the product you work with every day is one you love. The starting wage is $19 per hour for a 37.5 hour week, plus a generous benefits package. The successful candidate must have a current Oregon or Washington driver’s license and a clean driving record. This position is based out of our Industrial warehouse, where there is some free parking available. If you ride your bike to work, we have safe bike storage and showers on site. (We also provide a bike benefit if you use your bike to commute to work.) If you prefer to take public transportation, we provide a Tri-Met subsidy.
