Your body is your instrument when you sing. Using your voice well comes from an active sense of physical support from foot soles, through the legs and spine to the crown of the head. I will show you how to access whole body presence so that your voice is grounded and doesn't feel tight.
My lessons will give you guidance in how to warm up your voice and develop practical musicianship.
You will learn a systematic approach to centering your body energy and placing the voice. It is an organic process that is pleasurable, creative and generates enthusiasm!
My approach to teaching voice makes use of my Conservatory training and my expertise in Somatics, Qigong and Modern Dance. I am an accomplished pianist and know how to use the piano to support you in vocal exercises and a range of repertoire from Classical to Jazz and Pop. I understand what it takes to be able to sing with confidence and ease.
I offer lessons on Zoom. I am also opening up my studio for lessons in person.
If you are interested in trying it out I am offering a free introductory half hour lesson. You can write, text or call me if you want to set that up.
